AI Torts Attorneys | Help for Victims of AI-Generated Harm

When artificial intelligence is used to hurt you, we hold the people and companies behind it accountable.

Internet Law

Generative AI has made it fast, cheap, and easy to fabricate explicit images, clone a person's voice, impersonate real people, and publish convincing falsehoods at scale. The technology is new. The harm is not. Victims are facing real injuries — to their safety, their reputations, their finances, and their families — and the law is catching up quickly to give them a way to fight back.

Revision Legal has spent more than a decade at the intersection of law and technology. We understand how these systems are built, how they are misused, and how to build a case against the people and companies responsible. If an AI tool — or the person who weaponized it — caused you harm, you may have the right to demand removal of the content, stop the abuse, and recover significant damages.

A new kind of harm deserves a firm that understands the technology

Most law firms are still trying to understand what a deepfake is. We're not. Our attorneys work in internet law, intellectual property, defamation, and data privacy every day, and we apply that experience to the emerging field of AI-related torts. We move quickly to preserve evidence, identify who is responsible — whether that's an anonymous user, a website operator, or the company that built the model — and pursue every available remedy under federal and state law.

Below are the AI-related harms we help victims fight. If your situation isn't listed, reach out anyway. This area of law is changing every month, and we are committed to staying ahead of it.

AI-related harms we handle

Nonconsensual Deepfake & AI-Generated Sexual Imagery

AI "nudify" apps and image generators can take an ordinary photo of a real person and produce fake, sexually explicit content in seconds. The images are fabricated, but the humiliation, fear, and reputational damage are devastatingly real — and victims are increasingly children.

Federal and state law now give victims powerful tools. The federal TAKE IT DOWN Act criminalizes the nonconsensual publication of intimate images, including AI-generated "digital forgeries," and requires platforms to remove reported material quickly. A growing body of federal and state law also gives victims the right to sue for substantial money damages. We act fast to get the content taken down, identify who created and spread it, and pursue the people and platforms responsible.

AI Chatbot Harms & Negligent Design

AI "companion" chatbots are designed to be emotionally engaging — and for vulnerable users, especially teenagers, that design can be dangerous. Families have brought wrongful-death and product-liability claims alleging that chatbots were built without adequate safeguards and encouraged self-harm or dangerous dependency.

Courts have allowed claims like these to move forward on theories including defective design, failure to warn, and negligence. If you or your family were harmed by an AI product that was released without reasonable safety protections, you may be able to hold its makers accountable the same way you would any other dangerous product.

AI Defamation & False Statements

Generative AI systems routinely "hallucinate" — they state false things about real people with complete confidence. When an AI platform publishes fabricated claims that you committed a crime, behaved unethically, or anything else that damages your reputation, the resulting harm can follow you for years.

AI defamation is a developing area of law, and courts are actively testing how traditional libel and slander rules apply to machine-generated content. We evaluate whether false statements about you can support a defamation, false light, or related claim, and we pursue the parties responsible for publishing and amplifying them.

Voice Cloning & Right of Publicity

Your voice, face, and name have value, and AI can now replicate all three. When someone uses an AI-generated clone of your voice or likeness without permission — in an ad, a song, an endorsement, or a fake video — they may be violating your right of publicity.

States are expanding these protections specifically to cover AI. Tennessee's ELVIS Act, for example, protects against unauthorized use of a person's voice, including AI-generated simulations that are recognizable as them. We help performers, public figures, and everyday people stop the unauthorized use of their identity and recover the value that was taken.

AI Impersonation, Fraud & Scams

Criminals are using AI to clone the voices of family members, executives, and trusted officials to commit fraud — convincing victims to send money or sensitive information based on a synthetic voice they believe they recognize. The FBI has formally warned that these impersonation attacks are rising.

When AI-enabled impersonation causes you financial or personal harm, the people who orchestrated it — and sometimes the platforms that recklessly enabled it — can be pursued. We help victims investigate the source of the fraud and pursue civil recovery.

Biometric Privacy & Unauthorized Use of Your Voice or Face

AI models are trained on data — and that data increasingly includes your face, your voiceprint, and other biometric identifiers, often collected without your knowledge or consent. Laws like Illinois' Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA) give people the right to control how their biometric data is captured and used, with real financial consequences for companies that violate it.

These cases have produced major results, including multimillion-dollar settlements against companies that scraped faces and voices without permission. If your biometric information was collected or used to build or train an AI system without your consent, you may be entitled to compensation.
